About Us

History

The Rathgar Residents' Association was founded in 1973 It has operated continually since that time representing the residents of the Rathgar area by making sure that their interests are brought before the appropriate public body, whether it be Dublin City Corporation, An Bord Pleanala or some other body. It maintains contact with other residents' associations throughout Dublin.

Committee

The affairs of the Association are managed by a Committee of twelve members, who are elected at the Annual General Meeting. The Committee elects from amongst its number a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasury. There is also a Planning Officer and an Environment Officer. The Committee meets at least ten times a year. A quorum for a Committee meeting is five. The Committee can fill any vacancies by co-option between AGMs.

Membership

There are 500 members of the Association currently. The fee structure of the Association is as follows:

  • households EUR15
  • OAPs EUR7.50
  • students EUR7.50
  • unwaged EUR7.50
