AGM Cancellation Notice (COVID-19)

March 09, 2020

In light of government advice regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to postpone our AGM scheduled for later this month.   The safety and well being of the community is our number one concern and we would urge all members to follow the HSE advice on preventative measures.     We will monitor the situation closely and advise of a new date once it is deemed safe and appropriate by health authority standards.

Rathgar Meals on Wheels - Renewed Appeal

Rathgar Meals on Wheels, now including Ballyboden Meals on Wheels, are in urgent need of new volunteers. Meals on Wheels is a much-needed service providing lunch to local residents, in their own homes, three days a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays). The service can be requested by HSE social workers delivering home-care, Gardaí working with people in difficult situations, or by anyone who may feel their family members are in need of the assistance. Rathgar Heritage Walk

This Sunday 6th October, Ged Walsh will be providing a walking tour of the Rathgar area outlining numerous heritage features that may often be overlooked. Ged Walsh has had a lifelong interest in local history, particularly that of the Rathgar/Churchtown area where he lives. A member of the Old Dublin Society since 1970 and of the Rathmines, Ranelagh and Rathgar Historical Society since its foundation in 1996, he has given talks on various topics to several Local History Societies and Active Retirement Associations, mainly in South County Dublin.
